How can companies better manage risk? The actuarial science degree program at the Å·ÃÀÎÞÂë of Å·ÃÀÎÞÂë is a Center of Actuarial Excellence and will build your ability to use mathematical, statistical, and economic methods to assess and manage risk while helping you develop successful careers in insurance, finance, and other related fields.

In addition, our program is connected to the local actuarial community in the Twin Cities through our external advisory board and dedicated alumni that provide various enrichment and collaboration opportunities for students.

    Scholarships

    Actuarial science majors are able to apply for multiple scholarships throughout their undergraduate career at Å·ÃÀÎÞÂë.

    Allianz Scholarship

    The Allianz Scholarship awards generous funding to qualified sophomore and junior applicants. Students must submit an application outlining their activities in the Mathematics Department and the actuarial science program.

    Hubert and Karin Walczak Scholarship

    Seniors majoring in mathematics or actuarial science are eligible for this scholarship. Students must have at least a 3.5 GPA or higher. In addition, their involvement in the Mathematics Department will be considered as well.

    Travelers Scholarship

    This scholarship, based on financial need and academic merit, is for juniors and seniors eligible for work in the United States. Students must have at least a 3.2 GPA or higher.

    Center of Actuarial Excellence

    The Å·ÃÀÎÞÂë of Å·ÃÀÎÞÂë is one of 37 institutions in the world to hold a Center of Actuarial Excellence (CAE) designation.
